Amaya’s First Halloween 🎃
My baby girl’s first Halloween. Just another sweet little first that I get to experience as her mommy.

Looking at these pictures, I can’t help but think about how much life can be happening behind a simple smile. How you can be experiencing some of the most beautiful moments of motherhood while quietly going through some of the most painful moments of your own life.
These past few months have taught me so much about love, disappointment, strength, and the reality that life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined.
There have been days when my heart has felt heavier than I could explain. Days when I’ve cried, questioned so many things, and struggled to understand how a chapter that brought me the greatest love of my life could also come with so much heartbreak.
And through it all, there’s Amaya.
Growing a little more every day. Learning new things. Smiling, discovering the world, and reaching little milestones without knowing anything about the emotions Mommy has been carrying.
This Halloween was one of those sweet little moments that reminded me just how beautiful these early memories can be. My mom, Amaya’s grandmother, was so excited about her first Halloween. She was the one who picked out Amaya’s adorable little pumpkin costume, and I think she was just as excited, if not more excited, than anyone to take her trick-or-treating.

And Amaya? She was taking it all in. Her little eyes were everywhere, studying all the different costumes, watching the people around her, and looking at everything with so much curiosity. Even with all the spooky costumes, she wasn’t frightened one bit. She was smiling, laughing, and completely fascinated by everything happening around her.

Watching my mom enjoy that moment with her granddaughter and seeing Amaya so curious and happy reminded me how much love surrounds my little girl.
It wasn’t about the candy or the costumes. It was about being together, making memories, and watching her experience something new.
While my heart was breaking, hers was discovering the world.
And there’s something so beautiful and bittersweet about that.
Because motherhood doesn’t stop when you’re hurting. The days keep passing, your baby keeps growing, and somehow, you find the strength to keep showing up, even when you’re still trying to put pieces of yourself back together.
I’ve learned that I can be heartbroken and grateful at the same time. I can be disappointed in how certain things have unfolded and still be completely in love with the life I’ve been blessed to nurture.
I may not be living the chapter of motherhood I once pictured, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be beautiful. And when Amaya looks back at these pictures one day, I hope all she sees is a little girl who was loved, celebrated, and cherished through every season of her life.
Because no matter what I’m going through, I never want my pain to overshadow her joy.
She doesn’t have to carry the weight of my heartbreak. She just gets to be little, loved, and free to discover the world.
My sweet girl, you are the most beautiful part of every chapter of my life. 🤍🎃
